Sometimes it’s not always necessary to make 4 dozen cookies or a triple layer cake. If you’re like me and trying a new recipe, having 4 dozen so-so cookies is not the greatest idea. There are times that the soft and chewy cookie recipe doesn’t always work out and then I’m left with dozens of cookies that collect dust in the cookie jar. I’ve learned by trial and error to make smaller batches of new recipes until I’m sure the recipe will work.
Pinterest is one of many great resources for finding recipes and I go there often for inspiration. I almost always find an idea that would work for my family but I usually have to adjust the amounts. My getting empty nest calls for smaller portions. Cooking for 2 or 3 people calls for different amounts and a sheet cake or 9×13 casserole can be just too much. This chart helps to take the guess work out of measurements.
