Streusel topped apple slab pie is a quick alternative to traditional apple pie. There is no hassle of preparing a pie crust. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and place it in the jelly roll pan. Baking pie doesn’t get easier than that!
Using a Pillsbury™ pie crust and McIntosh apples you can make a delicious apple slab pie. A slab pie is a shallow pie that’s usually baked using a jelly roll pan. The presentation is beautiful and serves easily right out of the baking pan.
The streusel topping is made by combining flour, sugar, oats and butter. The result is a flaky crumbly topping. It’s the perfect combination to the moist apple pie filling. The fun thing about slab pies is that you can bake up many different varieties. Swap out the apples for strawberries, pumpkin or peaches, the possibilities are endless. A slab pie easily feeds a crowd and is perfect for the holidays.
